Shrikhand Mahadev Trek

8 Days & 7 Nights

Overview of Shrikhand Mahadev Peak

Shrikhand Mahadev, nestled in the serene valleys of the Indian Himalayas, stands as a beacon of spiritual significance and natural splendor. This sacred pilgrimage site holds profound reverence among devotees and adventurers alike, drawing them to its majestic heights and pristine surroundings.

Perched at an altitude of approximately 17,150 feet (5227 meters) in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, Shrikhand Mahadev is renowned for its breathtaking beauty and arduous trekking trails. The journey to this sacred shrine is not merely a physical expedition but a soul-stirring odyssey, as pilgrims traverse rugged terrains, dense forests, and icy streams, seeking communion with the divine.

According to Hindu mythology, there once existed a rakshasa named Bhasmasur who was a devout follower of Lord Shiva. He devoted several years to meditation in order to please the deity. Eventually, Lord Shiva, pleased with his devotion, granted him the power to reduce anyone to ashes by merely placing his hand on their head. However, consumed by immense pride, Bhasmasur attempted to use this power against Lord Shiva himself. In response, Lord Shiva vanished into a cave, only to reappear later atop a mountain, which is now revered as Shrikhand Mahadev. Another legend associated with this place involves the Pandavas. It is believed that they also embarked on a pilgrimage to this sacred site.

Join us as we embark on a journey to unravel the mystique of Sri Khand Mahadev, exploring its rich heritage, awe-inspiring landscapes, and the profound spirituality that resonates through every rock and rivulet of this sacred sanctuary.
